Filmmaker Milan Luhtria directed ‘The Dirty Picture’ which was based on the life of Silk Smitha had become one of the biggest blockbuster hits in the industry.
Although the film could be termed as a biopic, Milan says that the industry will soon reach a saturation point with biopics.
He said, “Earlier, we did not have buyers for biopic, like for ‘The Dirty Picture’. Today, the acceptance level is high. But, I am afraid we might be reaching a saturation point. People chase a genre without even knowing why are they doing it.”
Milan said in forward. “I feel there might be laziness in writing. It is difficult to chart out a road map. Start out the story with a new character. Reference point always makes things easier for writers.”–CINEWS
