Actor Ethan Hawke has signed up to star in Pedro Almodóvar’s upcoming movie, ‘Strange Way of Life’, which is a short, (half-hour) western movie. In the movie, Hawke is starring opposite Chile star Pedro Pascal.
As per the producer, Agustín Almodóvar, the movie will be “another exercise of freedom in the line of ‘The Human Voice’.”
Pedro will be shooting this movie right before he makes his English feature debut, ‘A Manual for Cleaning Women’ which stars Cate Blanchett.
As reported by Variety, the movie will be shot in the English language. According to reports, the movie begins with Silva riding across deserts to visit Sherriff Jake in Bitter Creek. About two decades ago the men worked together as hired gunslingers. Silva goes to Bitter Creek for a nice reunion with an old friend but Jake’s reasons are not simply about reminiscing memories and he has a secret reason.
As per the makers the movie’s title reflects a famous fado written as well as sung by Amalia Rodrigues. Speaking about it, producer Agustín Almodóvar said, “In all his cinema, Pedro reinterprets genres, questioning their codes.”
Pedro Almodóvar’s most recent movie was the Oscar nominated ‘Parallel Mothers’ which starred Penelope Cruz. He has directed the short film, ‘The Human Voice’ which stars Tilda Swinton.
Ethan Hawke, in the meanwhile, was recently seen in the ‘The Black Phone’ and Pascal was last seen in the ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ which starred Nicholas Cage in the lead and he will also star in the HBO series, ‘The Last of Us’.
