Ex-MLA Matin Ahmed blames Mishra for violence

New Delhi, Feb 26 (IANS) Five-time Congress MLA from Seelampur Mateen Ahmed, who lost the poll this time to AAP, has blamed BJP leader Kapil Mishra for the violence in north-east Delhi.

Speaking to IANS, Ahmed alleged that Kapil Mishra came out with a mob and instigated the people to attack others.”

Ahmed, who is famous for arranging a ‘Kawad Shivir’ (a tent for Shiv devotees during ‘Kanwad’ pilgrimage) in his area from many years, also said that it is wrong for the protesters to block roads.

“There was no reason to create a blockade as the (anti-CAA) protest was going on peacefully,” he said. But, he said, after Kapil Mishra’s speech on Sunday protesters were attacked and that “people from outside are responsible for the arson.”

Matin appealed for an to end to violence and urged the police to arrest the rioters.
