Peel Region is advising residents that the fall garbage exemption period (originally scheduled from September 13-24) has been suspended.  This is being done in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure the health and safety of essential front-line staff.

Unlimited amounts of untagged garbage will not be collected, said spokesperson Sandeep Punia. Tags must be used to dispose of excess garbage bags. However, bulky item collection will continue every garbage pick up day.

Garbage tags can be ordered online at peelregion.ca/waste or by calling 905-791-9499 or 905-584-2216 (for Caledon residents).

Excess garbage and bulky items can also be dropped off at any Peel Community Recycling Centre (CRC), where disposal fees will apply. The CRCs only accept credit/debit payments.
