Hollywood actor Ezra Miller, who played DC Comic superhero ‘Flash’ has been involved in some controversy the last few weeks.
He was reportedly arrested in Hawaii for drunk and disorderly conduct, when he yelled obscenities and allegedly assaulted someone during karaoke in a bar.
Ezra Miller was best known for his role as ‘Flash’ in the DC movies. He first played the character in the 2017, DC Movie, ‘Justice League’. He was all set to reprise his character in the ‘The Flash’ standalone movie from DCEU, which was scheduled for a June 2023 release.
Ezra Miller was supposed to be main-stay for the franchise, joining actors, Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Henry Cavill (Superman) and Ben Affleck (Batman) who also were supposed to be playing their superhero characters in the foreseeable future.
But for Miller, that future is not at risk. According to a report in ‘Rolling Stone’, execs from Warner Bros. got together for an emergency meeting following the Miller’s arrest. The report said that during meeting, “the consensus in the room was to hit pause on any future projects involving Miller including possible appearances in the DC Cinematic Universe.”
On March 27-28. Ezra Miller was arrested after an altercation at a bar in Hawaii. According to the Hawaii Police Department, Ezra used foul language and he also lunged at a person playing darts. The police released him after he posted bail, which was set at $500.
A few days later, he was ordered by a judge to stay away from a married couple with whom he was reportedly boarding during his stay in Hawaii. Ezra had allegedly threatened them that he would harm them and he also stole their documents, passports and wallets.

Unfortunately, these aren’t Ezra Miller’s only brush with controversy. In 2020, there was widely circulated video in which Ezra was spotted choking a woman at a bar in Iceland. At the time, no charges were pressed, but it was a serious altercation and Ezra had to be escorted out of the bar.
While his future as ‘Flash’ for DC verse remains a question mark, Ezra Miller will be seen next in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’ which will release in theatres on April 15. Ezra plays Credence Barebone in this prequel series from the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise.
