‘Full House’ actor Jodie Sweetin manhandled by LAPD

‘Full House’ and ‘Fuller House’ actor Jodie was reportedly shoved by an LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) officer when she was attending a rally protesting the recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. For the unversed, the controversial judgement by the Supreme Court puts an end to the federal protection of abortion rights that have been in place for nearly half a century.

As reported by Variety, a video of the incident, which took place on Saturday has started making the rounds on the internet.

According to the footage, an LAPD officer grabbed and then pushed Jodie Sweetin right before the actress falls face forward into the ground. Immediately, a group of protestors rush forward to help Sweetin get back on her feet and another group can be seen telling off the said officer.

This incident allegedly took place along a freeway exit which the protestors are believed to have blocked for their protest.

Right after the shoving incident, in the video, one protestor loudly yells, “What the f**k is wrong with you guys?” to the police officer and soon a chant of “No justice, no peace” starts.

Jodie Sweetin’s representatives confirmed that it was indeed her in the footage. She also released a statement shortly afterwards.

In her statement following the incident, Sweetin said, “I’m extremely proud of the hundreds of people who showed up yesterday to exercise their First Amendment rights and take immediate action to peacefully protest the giant injustices that have been delivered from our Supreme Court.”

The statement went on to add, “Our activism will continue until our voices are heard and action is taken. This will not deter us; we will continue fighting for our rights. We are not free until ALL of us are free.”

A day after the incident, on Sunday afternoon, Sweetin also posted a response to the viral video which had the caption, “The LAPD just manhandled actress/activist Jodie Sweetin at a pro-choice protest.”

To this post, Sweetin wrote on Instagram, “Thank you for posting. Love everyone out there in the streets fighting for what’s right… #WeKeepUsSafe.”
