The second annual Celebrating Seva event in honour of Paviter Singh Bassi, a 21-year-old young Bramptonite who died after he was beaten in front of a high school takes place this Friday, April 12 at The Rose Theatre.

Performances by Noyz, Minority Mindset, The Lost Strings, a hukamnama recitation and a silent auction featuring 30 artists and local businesses will start at 6 p.m. and run until 10 p.m.

Paviter Singh Bassi, 21, was killed March 19, 2018. Five suspects have been charged in the attack in front of Sandalwood Heights Secondary School on Sandalwood Parkway near Torbram Road.

His family said they established The Paviter Fund in his memory and 100 per cent of the proceeds of the event will be donated to that fund, which carries on Paviter’s dedication to serving and giving back to his community.
