Gun discharged during Mississauga home invasion

Peel police are investigating a home invasion style robbery that occurred in Mississauga on September 3.

Police said that at approximately 1:40 a.m., five suspects attended a residence in Mississauga and forced their way into the home. Once inside, they made demands for money, at which point one of the suspects discharged a firearm into the ground. Fortunately there were no serious physical injuries sustained by any of the victims.

All of the suspects are described as male, wearing masks, dark hooded sweaters, dark pants and gloves.

Several of the suspects stole the victims 2021 Bentley Bentayga with personalized licence plate MTG PWR, while others fled the area in a Nissan Murano that they arrived in.

Police said similar demands were made by suspects with the same description in a separate home invasion in Mississauga on August 27. There were no physcial injuries sustained in that incident.

Peel police are warning the publuc that these males are armed and dangerous. Anyone that sees the vehicle or the suspects, is asked to not approach them but to instead call 9-1-1 immediately.

In both cases, high end luxury vehicles were parked in the driveways of the victims residences. At this time it is unknown if the two robberies are related or if the vehicles were the intended target of the robbery.

In an effort to help reduce instances of crime, police have shared the following safety tips for property protection:
– Ensure there is adequate lighting in the area of driveways and entrance ways
– Park vehicles in the garage if space is available
– Don’t open doors to people you are not familiar with
– Call police if you witness suspicious activity in your community
