The popular TV Series ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ is gearing up for Season 5. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter (THR), there is going to be an addition to the cast. FXX’ TV Show, ‘Dave’s’ series regular, actress Christine Ko is going to be the new addition to ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ for its upcoming fifth season.
The Emmy Award winning show is currently under production in Toronto, Canada and is slated to premiere on Hulu later this year.
As per reports, Ko will be playing a recurring role in the coming season, as character ‘Lily’, a Gilead refugee who is leading the resistance movement from Canada.
This is Christine Ko’s second Hulu show. She will also be a part of season 2 of ‘Only Murders in the Building’, which will premiere on June 28.
At the end of Season 4, the showrunner of Handmaid’s Tale, Bruce Miller told THR that June’s action (June is the protagonist of the show, played by Elizabeth Moss) “has the potential to push things in a ton of ways.”
Season 5 of the show will start from the point where June and some of the other escapee handmaids kill captured leader Fred Waterford, played by Joseph Fiennes.
Reportedly, Ko’s character Lily joins Season 5 as a leader who is part of the resistance with a history of dealing with dangerous situations. Her character will be portrayed as someone who can become a powerful ally if she trusts them.
Christine Ko’s other regular project is the TV show ‘Dave’ and she will soon be seen in the third season of the show. Besides, ‘Dave’ and ‘Only Murders in the Building’, Christine Ko was also seen in Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Upload’ and CBS’ ‘Hawaii Five-0’.
