Mini Mathur: Kabir doesn’t make films to win awards
Former VJ Mini Mathur and wife of director Kabir Khan says she is also a part of his film projects.
She said he usually “discusses things about a film with me and therefore I have become pretty much a part of his films.”
She added: “Kabir never makes a film thinking about awards or expectations. He will make what he wants to. I think only those films work which are made from the heart and without any expectations.”
Talking about her husband’s association with Salman Khan she said: “I think Kabir likes to imagine Salman in stories that nobody has seen him before. He is an incredible actor.”
Mini spoke to media at a festive preview pop-up fashion show on Thursday. The event was attended by actresses like Sana Khan and Huma Qureshi.
Salman is all set to star in the sequel to Kabir’s Ek Tha Tiger. The film will be called Tiger Zinda Hai, and is expected to release on Christmas 2017.
Mini said: “I feel story is the king. If Salman likes the story, he says yes immediately. If he does not like the story, then he won’t agree at all.”
Salman and Kabir are planning to do a sports film in the future.
She did not comment on the alleged creative differences between the Tubelight star and her husband while filming Tubelight in Manali.
The former “Indian Idol” host also shared about the experience of being wife of a director, who has made films like “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” and “Phantom”.
One of the most popular TV hosts in India, Mini acted in I, Me Aur Main. She currently also hosts an interview based show with politicians, industrialists and opinion makers called “Dilli dil se”. – CINEWS
