‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is steadily in the news due to the various insider leaks and sneak peeks being given about the movie.
Just last week there were rumours speculating whether Iron Man was going to be in the movie and now the rumour mill is abuzz about whether or not we will see Wolverine.
It’s not an unlikely possibility, as actor Patrick Steward has already confirmed that he will be reprising his role as Professor X from the ‘X-Men’ movies for ‘Doctor Strange 2’.
This marks the much anticipated and Marvel’s most exciting cross over between the ‘X-Men’ and Marvel franchise. Comic book lovers will be ecstatic as this is a connection they have enjoyed in the comics.
Coming to the rumours about Wolverine, the latest buzz is that Daniel Radcliffe has been roped in to play Wolverine.
The speculations started with reports that claimed Marvel was looking for actors who were shorter to play Wolverine in upcoming Marvel films starting from ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. The reports stated that this search was on, so that the movie character could be more in line with the comic-character.
This will be a big change though, as Hugh Jackman who played Wolverine for two decade was over six feet. The early reports suggested that Taron Egerton was chosen as the new Wolverine but he was quick to deny his involvement. The buzz then zeroed in on Daniel Radcliffe.
Radcliffe is most popular for playing ‘Harry Potter’ in the eight ‘Harry Potter’ movies which were based on J.K. Rowling’s best-selling ‘Harry Potter book series’.
When Daniel was asked about his supposed involvement in Doctor Strange he said, “So many times, people come to me like, ‘Hey man, heard the Wolverine news, that’s pretty cool.’ No, I don’t know anything about it. Like, I appreciate that somebody is clearly going like ‘Wolverine’s actually short in the comic books, you should get like a short guy to do it!'”
The actor further said that he was doubtful if the studios would pick him after Hugh Jackman but he challenged them to prove him wrong. He said, “I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel.”
Since ‘Doctor Strange 2’ deals with the multiverse and variants there are unending speculations about cameos from various actors. It is believed that Wolverine will play a cameo. There were reports that Tom Cruise could play Iron Man, and there was speculation that John Krasinski could play Mr. Fantastic.
There have also been rumours that Ryan Reynolds would play a cameo as Deadpool and even Tobey Maguire will be seen reprising his Spider Man role once again.
The Sam Raimi directorial, starring Benedict Cumberbatch will release in theaters on May 6. Watch the official trailer here:
