Israeli series ‘Fauda’s’ Indian remake to be titled ‘Tanaav’

Applause Entertainment, which is the content arm of the Aditya Birla Group is all set to adapt the acclaimed and world-famous Israeli series, ‘Fauda’ for Indian audiences.

‘Fauda’ has been hailed as one of the best Israeli shows of all times and its Indian adaptation is titled, ‘Tanaav’ (which means chaos, tension and stress).

Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Applause Productions, ‘Tanaav’ has been helmed by Sudhir Mishra (National Award winning director) and the movie will be co-directed by Mamta Krishn.  ‘Tanaav’ will stream exclusively on the Sony LIV OTT platform.

The show has been set against the backdrop of Kashmir in the year 2017 and it tells the tale of a Special Covert Ops Unit and their courage. ‘Tanaav’ is a socio-political drama peppered with lots of action and a family drama at its core.

The characters of the show are portrayed as flawed who are all dealing with complex emotions while dealing with loss, revenge, love and betrayal.

The series has been shot in real live locations in Kashmir over a period of 100 days and this Indian adaptation is being told over 12 gripping episodes.

The cast for the show has been handpicked by Mukesh Chhabra and the show features a stellar cast featuring Manav Vij, Rajat Kapoor, Sumit Kaul, Shashank Arora, Zarina Wahab, Arbaaz Khan, Ekta Kaul, Danish Hussain, Waluscha De Sousa, Sukhmani Sadana, Satyadeep Mishra, Amit Gaur, Sahiba Bali, Arslan Goni, M.K. Raina, Rockey Raina, Aryaman Seth, Sheen Dass and a few others, all featuring in important roles.

‘Fauda’ has been created by Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz and it gained international acclaim and is among the top international shows in a foreign language.

Staying true to the original format, the Indian adaptation ‘Taanav’ has been adapted to suit a wider and more global audience.

Avi Issacharoff, who co-created the series was also excited that the show is being remade and said, “We are very happy and proud to hear about Tanaav, the Indian version of Fauda.
