Jacqueline Fernandez granted permission to fly to Abu Dhabi

Jacqueline Fernandez who has been requesting the court to travel abroad has received the permission to do so.

For the unversed, Jacqueline is currently under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), in connection with a money laundering and extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

As per the ED, they have attached assets worth Rs. 7 crores as well as other luxury gift items from the money laundering towards Jacqueline Fernandez.

She is currently being investigated with regards to her personal relationship with Chandrashekhar. Meanwhile, as part of the process, Jacqueline was put on a no-fly list and her passport was seized by the ED until they complete the investigation.

However, Jacqueline is part of the Hindi film industry and in the coming week, India’s biggest international awards ceremony, the IIFA will be held in Abu Dhabi. In order to attend that event, Jacqueline had requested a Delhi court for special permission to attend the ceremony.

Earlier she had requested permission then withdrew the request as at that time the awards had gotten postponed to July 2022. Since then, the awards got pulled up to June and she reapplied her petition seeking permission to travel.

As per latest reports, the actress has been granted permission to travel. However, the court has set forth a few conditions. As per the reports, the court stated, “Considering the facts and circumstances, the application at hand is allowed. The applicant is granted permission to travel to Abu Dhabi, UAE from 31.05.2022 till 06.06.2022 and for this given period, the LOC against the applicant issued in this case shall stand suspended.”

Besides this, Jacqueline also has to submit Rs. 50 lakhs as guarantee that she will return. The court said, “The applicant shall submit an FDR to the tune of ₹50 lakhs along with an undertaking that in case of her non-return, the FDR shall stand suspended and shall also provide a surety of ₹50 lakhs, The applicant shall submit her itinerary, place of stay and the number at which she can be contacted. On her return, the applicant shall inform the investigating agency about her return.”

Work wise, Jacqueline Fernandez was part of two releases this year – ‘Bachchhan Pandey’ and ‘Attack: Part 1’. Her next upcoming project is a thriller ‘Vikrant Rona’. The movie is slated to release in theatres on July 28, 2022.
