Amaravati, Aug 5 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Tuesday.

According to officials, the Chief Minister will leave for a two-day visit to the national capital on Tuesday morning.

He will first call on Amit Shah and will meet Modi. Jagan Reddy is likely to discuss the pending issues related to the state, especially the commitments made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014.

Jagan Reddy, who already held a couple of meetings with Modi since assuming office two months ago, is likely to again urge him to accord special category statue to Andhra Pradesh as promised by the Centre at the time of bifurcation of unified Andhra Pradesh.

He is also likely to seek Centre’s help in early completion of Polavaram irrigation project across Godavari river.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief will be meeting Modi and Shah a day after the party supported the Centre’s move to scrap Article 370 which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

In Rajya Sabha YSRCP declared its “wholehearted” support to scrapping of Article 370 and the decision to bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir.

On the second day of his visit, the Chief Minister will meet President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu.
