Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Kaabil” starring Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam will be postponed to January 26.
The earlier plan was to screen the film on Wednesday, January 25.
Though trend in Bollywood is to release movies on Fridays producers have opted for a Wednesday to cash in on the holidays.
Rakesh’s previous film ‘Krrish 3’ (Diwali 2013) was to release on November 3 but since that day happened to be Lakshmi Puja, he eventually released the superhero flick on Friday, November 1, which also marked Dhanteras, the first day of the festival.
The idea behind releasing ‘Kaabil’ on Wednesday, January 25, is to cash in on the long Republic Day weekend.
Roshan Senior says, “There have been instances in the past of movies were released mid-week especially if there was a national holiday following it. My director Sanjay and I are in agreement on this. After hearing what our distributors have to say, we thought it makes perfect sense.” – CINEWS
