Kangana Ranaut: “I liked reading but I started working right after school”


Bollywood ‘Queen’ Kangana Ranaut recently appeared on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. She came along as a special guest to promote her ‘Dhaakad’ co-star Arjun Rampal, Sharib Hashmi, Divya Dutta and director of the movie, Razneesh Ghai.

On the show, the actress confessed that she is quite the bookworm and loves reading books. She said, “I always liked reading but I had started working at an early age, right after graduating from school.”

Speaking further, the actress shared, “I used to feel really out of place in groups because people would talk about literature and other subjects. I then started self-educating myself and from there I picked up the habit of reading books.”

Kangana further said how she picked up screenplay writing and she even wrote the screenplay for a short film. She said, “I learned screenplay writing in my early days because I like learning about things. Even now, whenever I sit with someone, I like learning about them and their art, I absorb these things.”

Speaking further about it, “So, I took formal education for screenwriting. I directed a short film when I was 23-24 years old in California with an international crew. I really have a passion to learn and read new things.”

With ‘Dhaakad’ the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress is venturing into hard-core action. The makers of the movie have said that the movie will showcase Kangana is brand new avatars and the characters she dons in the movie are unique.

‘Dhaakad’ is slated to release in theatres on 20 May 2022.
