Karan Johar was on the list of celebrities targeted by Lawrence Bishnoi for extortion

Karan Johar seems to be on the receiving end of some bad publicity these last few days. A few days earlier he was blamed for the Covid wave that swept across Bollywood as nearly 55 guests from his fiftieth birthday bash tested positive within days of the party.

And now, as per latest reports, it seems as though Karan Johar had caught the attention of unlawful elements as well. Reportedly, according to a member of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, Karan Johar was one of the names on the gangster’s extortion list.

As per Mahakal, aka Siddesh Kamble, who is a close aide of Santosh Jadhav, one of the shooters implicated in the murder of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang had plans to extort Karan Johar out of nearly Rs. 5 crores ($641,000).

The police though have stated that Mahakal’s claims are yet to be verified and it is necessary to take it with a pinch of salt because it is possible that Mahakal was merely bragging when made these claims.

According to the reports, these claims were mentioned by Kamble who is currently in police custody, during his interrogation by the Mumbai Crime Branch, Delhi Police Special Cell and Punjab Police.

In the statements made by Mahakal, he also shared information about the Moose Wala murder and he was the one who named Nagnath Suryavanshi and Jadhav as part of the gang that executed the killing.

Mahakal also shared information about Bishnoi gang’s future plans. According to him, Vikram Brar, who is the brother of Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar shared information with him via Signal and Instagram.

The investigation team was quick to add that these claims made by Mahakal need to be verified and they suspect that a lot of what he said could be bragging or publicity stunt to extort larger amounts.
