Kashmir teenager injured in clashes with security forces succumbs

Srinagar, Aug 9 (IANS) A 16-year-old youth, injured in clashes with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday, succumbed to injuries in a hospital here, police said.

Muhammad Younis Sheikh was injured in clashes between the security forces and protesters in Tral area after three militants were killed by security forces in a gunfight in Gulab Bagh area of Tral.

“He was shifted to Srinagar for treatment where he succumbed to critical injuries,” police said.

Authorities have suspended mobile phone connectivity and Internet facility in Pulwama district after the gunfight.
