Lionsgate Play announces first gaming web-series ‘Gamer Log’


Lionsgate Play is one of the premium streaming platforms that features some blockbuster original content spanning across various genres for the Indian audience. They are credited with originals like ‘Hiccups & Hookups’ and ‘Jugaadistaan’.

Keeping to their theme of quirky originals Lionsgate is all set with another thrilling show called ‘Gamer Log’, which is a hilarious, sitcom based on competitive E-sports. This will be the first time in India that audience will see a new type of gaming show which will follow the highs and lows of professional gamers.

‘Gamer Log’ will be produced by RDP Pulp Fiction Entertainment, owned by Neeta Shah and Abhinay Deo. These two are of the firm belief that content is king. Their production house tends to back dynamic and versatile content which includes out-of-the-box ideas spanning across various genres.

So, they have produced romance, coming-of-age, slice-of-life as well as thrillers and action series. Now, the company has decided to back this new exciting series. ‘Gamer Log’. The show will be created by Karmanya Ahuja.

Mrinalini Khanna, VP Originals of Lionsgate Play spoke about the show during the announcement and said, “Gamer Log embodies the exact principles of content coming out of Lionsgate stable – innovation blended with entertainment. The series is placed in an enthralling universe but has the classical challenges of a coming of age series.”

Abhinay Deo who is the producer as well as showrunner of the show touched upon the uniqueness of the concept. He said that E-sports in India is steadily becoming popular but it’s a subject that hasn’t been explored when it comes to creating entertainment content. He said, “With Gamer Log, we plan to tap into an unexplored world, bringing audiences a story about friendship, camaraderie, hopes, dreams, and ambition.”

Speaking about ‘Gamer Log’, producer Neeta Shah said that it is a unique concept and the show includes peculiar characters who may be quirky but are also relatable. They manage the internal dysfunction of their team while navigating through the back breaking competition of E-sports with a healthy dose of comedy, drama and of course an entertaining display of gaming.  She further said, “Abhinay & I believe that Lionsgate Play’s ethos works best for ‘Gamer Log’ – it’s a story for the mass with an innovative thought. I’m glad that Rohit & Mrinalini are in complete sync with our vision of the show.” Other details about the show like cast and release date are yet to be updated.
