Netflix recently started streaming the sequel to its massively popular ‘365 Days’, which released in 2020. The sequel titled ‘365 Days: This day’, arrived on the streamer on April 27 and the critics verdict of the movie is out – even though so far, the movie has only received around nine reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, all are in unanimous agreement and they have given this erotic thriller the rare 0% rotten rating.

The first movie ‘365 Days’ made headlines when it was released on Netflix in 2020 mainly for its steaming hot lovemaking scenes which drew in the viewership numbers despite the problematic story line of the movie.

In the movie Michelle Morrone plays a Massimo, a mafia lord who kidnaps Anna-Maria Sieklucka, Laura. He keeps her captive in his estate and tells her she has a year (365 days) to fall in love with him.

The movie was not appreciated by critics as it romanticised toxic behaviour and Stockholm Syndrome but the erotic love scenes and skinship in the movie made it one of Netflix’s biggest viewership draw of that year.

This sequel begins with the wedding, even though the previous one ended showing that Laura’s car had exploded and she likely died as Massimo’s enemies were tarting her.

The official synopsis of ‘365 Days: This Day’ reads: “Laura and Massimo are back and stronger than ever. However, Massimo’s family ties and a mysterious man bidding for Laura’s heart complicate the lovers’ lives.”

Critics were not kind to the movie at all with Variety calling it “Piping hot trash”. The review by Roger Ebert.com said, “365 Days: This Day is barely a movie. It’s the emotionally bankrupt id of late capitalism, a braindead miasma of choreographed sex.”

Social media handle Twitter too lit up with hilarious reactions from users. One tweet read, “365 days: this day in a nutshell: 75% sex scene, 20% music video, 5% story line. That’s it. That’s the tweet,” while another tweet said, Sorry but 365 days: this day is f**king horrible,”

Michelle Morrone was recently seen in a music video with Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez. The video titled, ‘Mud Mud Ke’ was his debut in the Indian music space and Michelle spoke about it to Variety, “I’m excited about foraying into the music space in India. It is heartwarming to be welcomed with so much love. I love challenges and Mud Mud Ke posed a challenge that excited me. I thank the people of this country for waiting for my Indian debut.”
