William Osler Health System has announced that it (Osler) will re-open the Urgent Care Centre (UCC) at Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness (Peel Memorial) from December 6. The UCC is reopening with modified hours of operation from 1:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., seven days a week.

Osler says it implemented a number of initiatives to support capacity relief, including temporarily closing the UCC at Peel Memorial in early 2020 so that resources could be redirected to the areas of most need during the pandemic. A decline in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and ICU admissions along with rising vaccination rates has prompted Osler to resume most of its regular operations.

“At Osler, our top priority continues to be the health and well-being of the communities we serve,” said Kiki Ferrari, Chief Operating Officer, William Osler Health System. “Reopening the Urgent Care Centre is one of the last key milestones in returning to regular operations and ensuring our community receives the right care in the right place. I would like to thank the community for their understanding and thank the great team at Osler for their adaptability and unwavering efforts to care for our community during these exceptional times.”

While the reopening of the UCC will increase access to healthcare for residents with non-life threatening conditions, Osler is also offering a virtual urgent care option for any condition where a patient can safely wait a few hours for an appointment. Patients can book a Virtual Urgent Care appointment and find more detail on Osler’s website,

The UCC at Peel Memorial is resourced with emergency-trained staff and physicians ready to provide care to patients in need of immediate but non-life threatening care, and enables ready access to diagnostic services.
