Peel Regional Police Twitter account hacked

The Peel Regional Police Twitter account @peelpolicemedia, was hacked by an unknown party on the evening of Monday, May 30, the police said.

A spokesperson added that the posts that were made during this time do not represent the beliefs or views of Peel Regional Police.

It is said that a hacker calling himself Keemstar hacked into the account and posted some comments like “Hire Me”; “Selling Verified Accounts Cheap Imao DM me” and “LET’S GET ROIGHTTT INTO THE NEWS.”

However,  Keemstar who is a known YouTube personality, and whose real name is Daneil Keem, has claimed that he did not hack into the Peel Police account.  He said the same person or persons had also got into his accounts. He also siad it could be the same person who recently hacked Katy Perry’s account at the same time.. Katy Perry is the most followed person on Twitter, at 89 million and counting.  After briefly spewing a few vulgar and racist tweets the incident was quickly cleaned up, with no indication of exactly what went down.

“We apologize for this inconvenience and we are investigating this incident.  A hacker calling himself —apparently hacked the Peel Regional Police’s official Twitter account Monday evening. The account has been deactivated and will be up and running shortly so we can reconnect with all of our Twitter followers.  Peel Regional Police thanks you for your patience,” a police statement said.

By 10 p.m.however, on Monday,  the account was back in the hands of police, and tweeting will resume as usual on Tuesday morning. – CINEWS
