Comedian Pete Davidson returned to the stand-up stage after three years and he spent no time on making some choice observations on rapper Kanye West. Pete’s stand-up comedy stint was for Netflix’s ‘Is A Joke: The Festival’ which happened at the Hollywood Bowl.
As reported by Deadline, Pete talked about his very much in public relationship with reality TV star Kim Kardashian which included Kanye’s personal attacks on him.
Pete Davidson in his bit compared Kanye’s social media jabs to the Will Smit/Chris Rock infamous Oscar slap.
During his comic set, Pete Davidson said West told that Pete had AIDS. He jokingly added that he was momentarily convinced it might be true as West “is a genius”.
He also recalled watching a basketball game in December 2021 when he was seated between Chris Rock and Jon Stewart. He called that time as “before time”. He added, “Before life was over.”
The Will Smith slap was compared to the Claymation video made by West where Davidson’s head was cut off by West’s lookalike in the ‘Eazy’ video.
Davidson shared though that he did not hold it against his friend Jack Harlow for working with West but added that friendship with Bill Burr (who co-starred with him on ‘The King of Staten Island’) would be over if he the latter ever attended Sunday services with Kanye. Pete Davidson had taken a leave from SNL because he was filming ‘The Home’, a Miramax horror thriller.
