Police looking for South Asian gunman after early morning shooting in Oakville

An early morning shooting in Oakville has sent one man to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Halton police said the incident took place in the area of Ninth Line and Dundas St.

At around 04:00 am this morning, police received a 911 call reporting someone had been shot. The caller said two occupants were parked in a vehicle on Ninth Line when they were approached by an unknown male. The unknown male became aggressive leaving the area then returned with a firearm and shot into the vehicle. The passenger was struck and taken to hospital by the driver in non-life threatening condition. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

In a media release, police described the suspect as male, South Asian with black hair, 6 ft tall and weighing 200 lbs.
