The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to an ongoing sexual assault investigation.
It is alleged that between January 2001 to December 2009, a girl was sexually assaulted multiple times by a man. Some of the assaults took place in the Bayview Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East area. At the time of the incidents, the girl was between 8 and 16 years old while the man was between 44 and 52 years old.
On Thursday, October 29, 2020, Pooran “Bruce” Sancharra, 64, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with 5 counts of Sexual Interference, 5 counts of Sexual Assault and 2 counts of Invitation to Sexual Touching, police said.
He appeared at court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, October 29, 2020.
Investigators believe there may be other victims.
