Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala shot dead one day after his security was withdrawn

Popular Punjabi rapper and singer Sidhu Moose Wala who was in the news locally for having joined the Congress political party for Punjab elections was reportedly shot yesterday May 29, 2022.

The shooting incident reportedly took place in Jawaharke Village in Mansa District on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

The singer and politician had recently joined Congress party and had contested in this year’s election in Punjab on the Congress ticket.

Reportedly, Sidhu Moose Wala was defeated by AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) candidate Vijay Singla. They were both contesting for Mansa District and Vijay Singla defeated him soundly with a massive margin of 63,000 votes.

Sidhu Moose Wala was a popular but controversial singer in Punjab and reportedly only a day before the shooting incident, the Punjab police had withdrawn security for him.

While this might seem suspicious, in truth, Punjab Police withdrew security detail of nearly 424 people and Sidhu Moose Wala was one of them.

Reportedly two others were also injured in the incident. As per reports, a Canada based gangster Goldy Brar, who is said to be a close aide of Lawrence Bishnoi gang has evidently claimed responsibility for the Moose Wala’s murder.

Moose Wala reportedly had four police gunmen for his security, out of which two were withdrawn by Punjab police on Saturday.

Tragically, usually Sidhu Moose Wala used to travel in a bulletproof Fortuner vehicle, but on Sunday, May 29, he was travelling in his other non-bullet proof luxury vehicle Thar.

As per police officials, Sidhu Moose Wala’s vehicle was attacked by eight assailants and bullets from 3 AK-47 rifles were found at the scene. As per Punjab police, these rifles are rare in the state of Punjab.

Moose Wala was from the Mansa district and is mother is reportedly the head of the village, his father is an ex-serviceman. He is quite a popular figure and reportedly has 6.9 million followers on Instagram. His YouTube subscribers are over 100 million. He did court a fair share of controversy as his music was criticised for promoting drug abuse and violence.
