Ranbir Alia wedding: who was not invited?

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhat finally tied the knot in a very private extremely small ceremony hosted in their own house, Vastu in Bandra.

The pictures of the ceremony are dreamy and beautiful and the bride and groom couldn’t have looked more in love.

Alia Bhat ditched the traditional red worn by brides and went with an ivory sari with minimal make-up and not too many jazzy adornments. In fact, even her Bindi was a small maroon.

Even so, she looked stunning and the pictures clearly show a couple who enjoyed their ceremony as much as the thought of spending their life together.

Given all the buzz around it and the wait for the day, it was a let down for many that the wedding itself was over in 2 days. When Ranbir Kapoor’s parents – Rishi and Neetu Kapoor got married, it was such a grand event, the festivities went on for 20 days.

While ‘less is more’ is the best trend, it seems like Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhat took it a whole other level. Thanks to the many social media pictures circulating, we know who all came (not that hard to know, as there were only 28 guests in the ceremony). But let’s look at people who either weren’t invited or didn’t make it to the small wedding ceremony of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhat

We don’t mean all the industry bigwigs; this is the list of people who have reportedly been a part of the Ranbir-Alia’s close circle and should have earned an invite to their special day:

Sanjay Leela Bhansali – Ranbir made his acting debut with this ace director. Even before his acting debut, he learned the basics of the craft of filmmaking by working as an assistant director with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Also recently, Alia Bhat delivered a sensational hit in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ which was helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Given the dual connection, his absence seems conspicuous.

Ranbir’s childhood friends – While Ayan Mukherji his best friend made it, Ranbir has a couple of other close friends, like Siddharth Anand, who directed ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, Binoy Gandhi and Vikramjit Singh, who made ‘Roy’. These guys are reportedly part of Ranbir Kapoor’s inner circle, but none of them were seen at the wedding.

Shahrukh Khan – Alia Bhat has always had a close and respectful relationship with the megastar. Although, we can exclude this, as Shahrukh Khan is reportedly very busy with shoots

The Bachchans – While Shweta Bachchan and her daughter Navya Naveli did make it, they were technically family members (as Shweta is married to Ranbir’s maternal cousin). Amitabh Bachchan will soon be sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhat in ‘Brahmastra’ and even otherwise, this is like the First family of Bollywood and as such should have received an invite to the celebrations. Especially when you consider that among the 28 guests, Alia and Ranbir sent an invite to the Ambani’s.

Of course, the prerogative of who makes it for the big day is entirely up to the bride and the groom, and it is likely that some of these people may have been invited but they couldn’t attend the ceremony, which was clearly arranged at a short notice. Even so, these names stand out in the long list of close friends who would have wanted to be a part of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhat’s special day.

Who else according to you should have received an invite? Let us know in the comments below.
