Ranbir Kapoor: “I don’t want Alia to sacrifice her dreams because she has a child”

Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot on April 14, 2022 and in June 2022, the happy couple announced via Alia’s Instagram that they are expecting a baby soon.

Since then, Ranbir Kapoor who has been out and about promoting his upcoming movie, ‘Shamshera’ has been hounded by media persons about Alia’s pregnancy, Ranbir’s impending fatherhood and everything surrounding the baby and parenthood.

In one such interaction with the media Ranbir opened up about how he would tackle fatherhood and how he wants to be an equal parent to their child.

Speaking about wanting to be a hands-on parent, Ranbir Kapoor reportedly told Indian Express during an interview, “Alia and I have been talking about it for some time now, how we’re going share our responsibilities and how we’re going to share our time. We grew up in a generation where our fathers were quite busy with work and were not around us, so more or less we’ve been brought up by our mothers, so we were close to our mothers. I want to have a different dynamic with my children, I want them to be close to me also.”

Ranbir Kapoor is the son of Neetu Kapoor and the late Rishi Kapoor and Alia Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actor Soni Razdan.

Ranbir also spoke about Alia’s career and how he wants to ensure that her career is not affected because of the arrival of the baby. He said, “Alia is a very busy working star in this film industry and I don’t want her to sacrifice her dreams because she has a child. So, we have to somewhere plan out a balanced life where we both can enjoy our personal life and our professional life, so it is one day at a time, one step at a time, but I have a lot of expectations from it.”

Alia Bhatt returned from Europe last weekend after wrapping up her shoot on her debut Hollywood movie, ‘Heart of Stone’, which also stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. Gadot even shared a heartwarming note for Alia when she left.
