He is also currently the Chair of the Committee of Adjustment and Minor Variance for the City of Brampton.

“Having served as Chair of the Peel Police Services Board previously, I am honoured that my Board colleagues chose once again to place their trust in me and for allowing me the opportunity to serve in this important role,” said Chatha.

Ahmad Attia, who served as Chair in 2021 and Vice-Chair in 2020, was appointed to the Police Services Board on May 23, 2019, as the citizen appointee for the Region of Peel. Ahmad was born and raised in Mississauga, where he and his wife live and raise their three children. He also serves on the board of the Muslim Council of Peel.

The Peel Police Services Board is the governing body for the Peel Regional Police, which provides police services to Brampton and Mississauga, and under contract, to Pearson International Airport. Both the Chair and Vice-Chair are elected by their colleagues at the first Board meeting each year.
