Sanjay Dutt celebrates 41 years of ‘Rocky’

Actor Sanjay Dutt made his movie debut with the movie ‘Rocky’, which released on 6 May 1981. Sanjay Dutt has been a mainstay of Bollywood for four decades now and recently he played the antagonist ‘Adheera’ in the wildly popular blockbuster hit, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’.

Over the last four decades, Sanjay Dutt has essayed many diverse roles and characters and redefined himself as an actor several times. He has had to make many ‘comebacks’ in cinema, first owing to his addiction issues, then because of his infamous arrest and subsequent jail time and lastly more recently when he was battling cancer.

In his personal life Sanjay Dutt has encountered several struggles and tragedies, the first being losing his mother to cancer, just three days before the release of his debut film. At the time, it was reported that during the grand premiere of the movie, Sanjay Dutt and his father Sunil Dutt left a seat empty at the theatre for the recently deceased Nargis. In a way, her presence at the premiere was made even stronger because of her absence.

Upon completing 41 years in Indian cinema, Sanjay Dutt took to his social media to mark the special occasion. He shared a still of himself from his debut movie, ‘Rocky’ and mentioned the journey he has undertaken from playing ‘Rocky’ in 1981 to ‘Adheera’ in 2022.
