Sikh woman murdered in Regina; husband arrested

A 38-year-old Sikh woman has been found dead at her home in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Police were called to the home on 200 block of Upland Drive at 4:23 a.m.on Sunday to check on the well-being of the people inside.

They found the woman Sandeep Kaur Tehar without any life signs and it was determined that it was a homicide. Her husband Jagdish Singh Tehara, 39, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was prdouced in Regina provincial court on Tuesday, where court heard he’s seeking legal representation. Tehara was remanded to custody.

The couple has two young children, who are reportedly staying with Jagdish’s brother, Pritpal Tehara. The police service’s major crimes and forensic identification units are investigating, as is the coroner’s office. – CINEWS
