The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation of a suspicious fire.

On Monday, July 26, at approximately 9:00 pm police responded to a fire at a residence on Maple Avenue in Burlington. On arrival, the second floor of the home was fully engulfed by flames. Fortunately, the home was vacant at the time of the fire, and there were no physical injuries reported to police.

Burlington Fire was able to extinguish the fire however investigators have deemed this fire to be suspicious. HRPS investigators are now working with the Office of the Fire Marshal.

Anyone with information or with dashcam footage in the area of Maple Avenue and Hammond Street between the hours of 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm on the evening of July 26 is asked to contact the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316.
