Taron Egerton in talks to play Marvel’s ‘Wolverine’

Hollywood actor Taron Egerton is reportedly in talks with Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios to take on the role of ‘Wolverine’ for the MCU, a role that was previously essayed by Hugh Jackman.

Egerton has ‘X-men’ experience. He has previously been a part of ‘X-Men’ in the 2017, ‘Logan’. He has also worked with Hugh Jackman in ‘Eddie the Eagle’ which released in 2016.

The ‘Rocketman’ actor spoke about his wish to work as Wolverine and take v=over the baton from Jackman. Wolverine is a character that’s central to both X-Men as well as Avengers franchise.

Speaking about it, as reported by TOI, Egerton said, “I don’t think it would be wrong to say that. I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it. But hopefully, if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot.”

Egerton is all set for his next release, ‘Black Bird’ which comes out on July 8, 2022. In the series, Taron Egerton plays the role of an imprisoned drug dealer. The series is spread across six episodes and it has been adapted from the memoirs of James Keene penned by Dennis Lehane. In the show, Egerton’s character has the chance to reduce his sentence if he can convince his fellow inmates to admit to more serious crimes.
