Telangana’s 400-year-old Cheriyal scroll painting to be displayed in the Hong Kong Walls Festival

A Cheriyal painting from Telangana has been selected as one of the four art forms from India for the Hong Kong Walls Festival. The painting by Sai Kiran will be presented globally as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The Hong Kong Walls Festival is the popular annual street art and mural festival hosted by a non-profit arts organization, creating opportunities for local and international artists through the various street, local and traditional art events. “Kathaa,” a community-driven arts festival, has commenced its second edition in Hong Kong, celebrating 75 years of Independence of India. The festival will continue till December 10, 2021.

Sai Kiran expressed his happiness, saying, “I am so happy that I was selected to showcase my art form on an international platform and represent Telangana. My dream has come true as I always wanted to ensure exposure for this traditional art form on the global arena.”
