‘Thor: Love and Thunder’: New picture reveals ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Moon Knight’ connection

A picture from Marvel’s upcoming movie, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ seems to confirm close connections of the movie with Marvel’s ‘Moon Knight’ web series and ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ movie.

A new still from the movie was making the rounds on the internet on Monday, May 16, and the still seems to be a convening of the gods.

In the still Natalie Portman who plays Jane Foster and in the fourth Thor movie, Mighty Thor, can be seen sitting alongside Valkyrie, the ruler of Asgard, played by Tessa Thompson. The picture doesn’t exactly show where the characters are sitting but the interesting thing spotted by eagle-eyed Marvel fans is the person at the bottom right of the picture – it is a person who seems to be wearing a Panther-like costume.

Fans of Marvel, were quick to note that this could be Bast, an Egyptian god who has ties to ‘Black Panther’ as well as ‘Moon Knight’.

Bast is among the Ennead, a group of Egyptian gods that Marvel verse introduced in their recently concluded web series, ‘Moon Knight’, which streamed on Disney+. In the MCU, Bast is the goddess who led the very first Black Panther (Bashenga) towards the famed heart shaped herb, which is the source of all the powers of Black Panther.
