Actor Tom Hanks says he and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
In a statement posted to Instagram, Hanks said he and his wife were traveling in Australia when they were tested after exhibiting symptoms like tiredness, body aches, chills and “slight fevers.”
“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?” he wrote.
In the UK, Health Minister Nadine Dorries confirmed she has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Conservative MP, who rose of fame when she appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, revealed she had caught the virus, but says she is on the mend.
Italian footballer Daniele Rugani says he is “fine” after testing positive for coronavirus.
Juventus have activated “all the isolation procedures required by law”, including for those who have come into contact with Rugani, with Reuters reporting the entire Juventus squad are in isolation.
All sport in Italy is suspended until 3 April, with the country in lockdown because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Meanwhile the NBA has cancelled the rest of the season. It is reported that Utah Jazz forward Rudy Gobert preliminary tested positive for COVID-19.
