Police said the incident occurred in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar on Monday morning and they came to know when some locals reported the death of Babita Pathak.

“A preliminary probe confirmed that it is a dowry death case. Babita Pathak committed suicide after being harassed by her husband, Arvind Pathak and his family members. We have made a SDM complaint into the matter and the autopsy of deceased was also done,” DCP Vijay Kumar told IANS.

Her family members alleged that she was being harassed for dowry by him and his parents after a month after marriage.

“My daughter was often assaulted badly by Arvind Pathak whenever they asked her for taking Rs 2 lakh as dowry from me.
