5 Brampton men charged with firearm and drug offences

Peel police have arrested and charged five Brampton men with firearm-related and drug offences in addition to breach of conditions.

On Friday, November 3, at around 12 p.m., police located three men in the area of Highway 50 and Rutherford Road in Vaughan. As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Specialized Enforcement Bureau (SEB), three men were arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Police said that a search of the men revealed they were in possession of a FN 509 9mm pistol. The firearm contained a 24-round extended magazine loaded with 20 rounds. The accused parties were informed of the additional charges.

A few hours later, at around 3:44 p.m., SEB officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mountainash Road and Bovaird Drive in Brampton, two men were arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm. A search of the men resulted in locating, two extended magazines with a 24 round capacity containing 9mm ammunition. Both men were advised of the additional charge.

Amandeep Singh (21), Ramanpreet Singh (30), Maninder Singh (21), Swaranpreet Singh (20) and Jobanpreet Singh (20) all from Brampton were held for a bail hearing and attended court.
