Brampton man charged with setting semi-trailer truck on fire in Milton

Halton police have arrested a Brampton man in relation to an arson investigation in Milton.

On October 2, at around 4 am, police attended a fire in a parking lot located at 326 Bronte Street North. A semi-trailer truck was fully engulfed in flames at the time of police arrival. The fire was safely extinguished by Milton Fire and Rescue Services.

Police said that their investigation determined the fire to be an act of arson. Gasoline was also found to be poured over other semi-trailer trucks parked in the lot (although they were not set fire). Damage was also caused to a pickup truck parked next to the semi-trailer truck set on fire.

On November 12, police arrested a 31-year-old man from Brampton. Kumar Vinit has been charged with two counts of arson and one count of mischief over $5000.
