The second annual Hockey Night in Brampton at the CAA Centre this Wednesday features an all-star lineup of NHL players and hockey legends.
“We are hosting the largest charity hockey game in Canada to support William Osler Health System as they build Brampton’s urgently needed second hospital,” Mayor Patrick Brown said in a statement. Join myself, City Council, Maple Leafs’ Captain John Tavares, Brampton’s own Sean Monahan, and an all-star lineup of talent for a fun-filled night of hockey in support of local healthcare. I can’t wait to see you there!”
New additions to the evening, including former Toronto Maple Leafs’ icon Daryl Sittler, Edmonton Oilers’ Ryan McLeod, Arizona Coyotes’ Jack McBain, Los Angeles Kings’ Quinton Byfield, Winnipeg Jets’ Cole Perfetti, New York Rangers’ Ben Harpur, Arizona Coyotes’ Brett Ritchie, Calgary Flames’ Nick Ritchie and Mississauga Steelheads’ Ryerson Leenders and Jack Ivankovic.
These additions build on the previously announced, Maple Leafs Captain John Tavares, Mark Giordano, Sean Monahan, Owen Power, Erik Gudbranson, Liam Foudy, former NHL player Cody Hodgson, Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) forward Mikyla Grant-Mentis, 2018 & 2022 Olympian Canadian and WHL Toronto Furies Renata Fast and Canadian women’s national ice hockey team’s Brianne Jenner, Jeremy Roenick and Peel Regional Police’s community player Constable Adam Pileggi; as well as coaches Wendel Clark and Doug Gilmour.
Juno award winning reggae artist Exco Levi will open the evening, singing the national anthem. Doors open for pre-game festivities at 6 pm. Free family-friendly activities including Recreation’s new mobile recreation centre Ready, Set, Play!, airbrush tattoos, face painting, silent auction, and more!
Hockey Night in Brampton ticket sales will benefit William Osler Health System in building Brampton’s second hospital. Preliminary site work is underway on the project which includes a multi-storey patient tower with room to grow, new and expanded outpatient services, and Brampton’s second 24/7 Emergency Department.
Osler says it is going through the stages of clinical planning for the new hospital and all required approvals with the Ministry of Health and Infrastructure Ontario and is encouraging public feedback on the look, feel and function of the facility.
